Study of Environmental Problems and Their Consequences on our Earth
Today's topic is all about environmental threat/problems, their consequences on out Earth and also about some governmental and non-governmental organizations working day and night to bring greenery greenery again on our planet. I have also mentioned a beautiful and fastest way to support them cause we all should participate in this world of humanity and obviously for our future generations. Expecting love from your side, let's start.
So, I Hope you all are enjoying your days and busy in fulfilling your dreams and dreams and dreams...
But what about our home our planet "The Earth". We all know we have a single and splendid planet ''THE EARTH'' only where life is exists.
But, many of us are creating evil plans to kill our world, and you all are knowing that those are cruel monster who is destroying is living in our mentality. Which must be assassinated by true positive ninja's of our mind.
We must accept that POLLUTION is best and prior friend of Lazy, Unaware, reckless and some aware people also!
The environment is the key to the existence of life on earth. But there is a drastic change in environment due to global warming, excessive pollution, industrialisation, etc.
We should know everyone of us have thought once to do something but none of us took some measure steps to prevent it.
Do you know what we are losing in decades?
In case of forest
Data shows that tropical tree cover Loss between 2010 and 2018 averaged 12 million hectares per year, an increase from 8.5 million hectares per year from 2002-2009. Tree cover loss, however, includes both deforestation and activities within tree plantations, like cyclical harvesting and replanting.
In case of wildlife
Common and beloved species have been disappearing at 100 times the natural background rate, with massive decreases in species ranging from roadside insects to songbirds to lemurs. But despite growing concern, our ability to monitor these changes and measure biodiversity losses consistently in time and space remain elusive.
For example:
1. Capricorn rabbit-rat
2. Desert bettong,
3. Rodrigues blue-pigeon
4. Bermuda hawk.... etc.
And almost 600 species of plants are lost.
In case of rivers
22nd of march is worlds water day but nobody care’s except some people.
From the American West to China, Australia to India, some of the world's most important rivers have been drained dry for agriculture, industry, and drinking water.
Some of World’s Biggest River are drying up, Those are:-
- Colorado River
- Indus River
- Amu Darya River
- Syr Darya River
- Rio Grande River

In case of marine biodiversity
The ocean constitutes over 90% of the habitable space on the planet. The ocean has a much higher phylogenetic diversity: 30% of phyla are exclusively marine, whereas only one phylum is exclusively terrestrial.
By the year 2010, without significant changes, more than half of the world’s marine species may stand on the brink of extinction.
Today 60% of the world’s major marine ecosystems that underpin livelihoods have been degraded or are being used unsustainably.
So, how you feel after knowing these bunch of losses to our environment.
We can control these things if we fight like a warrior against following evil things...
1. Plastic:-
Plastic is one of the main villian favouring destruction of environment, this all because of us as we use it in huge, disregarding its impact.
If we see its production, Plastic production keeps growing at a rapid pace. It is estimated that about 3% of all plastic produced every year ends up in the ocean. Since the large-scale introduction of plastic after the Second World War, a total of 8.3 billion metric tons have been produced. Of this amount, until 2015, 6.3 billion tons of plastics have become waste. Only 9% of that waste plastic is recycled and 12% is incinerated. The remaining 79% ends up in landfills or in the environment, where they will stay forever in one form or another, as plastic does not decompose.
Source: www.nrdc.org |
World production of plastic increased from two million tons in 1950 to 380 million tons in 2018 (this number includes plastic textile fibers). In 2017, the world has produced nearly 350 million tons of plastic (not counting fibers). About half of all the plastic on earth has been produced in the past thirteen years. If the current trend continues, around the year 2050, there will be about twelve billion tons of plastic in landfills and in the environment. More plastic is being thrown away than we can clean up,
And its only solution is USE LESS & 3R’s Rule.
(Reduce, Reuse and Recycle)
2. What about global warming...
Based on abundant scientific evidence and 35 years of credible scientific warnings, global warming is still rising moreover rapidly warming becoming increasingly unstable and is now at dangerous levels due to human-oriented atmospheric carbon pollution primarily at this time from the burning of fossil fuels at rapid pace. Our average global temperature and atmospheric carbon levels are far too close to crossing the near-extinction tipping points.
We have already seen global warming-aggravated weather, like record-breaking floods, wildfires and hurricans. We have witnessed the "worst in centuries" droughts and dust storms. We have experienced alternating unseasonably cold then warm winters, extreme storms, bomb cyclones, and rain bombs where weeks or months worth of rain falls in a few hours or a few day.
Our climate scientists have determined that if we do not meet or come very close to the 2025 global fossil fuel reduction targets we will face a massive extinction event where as much as 70 to 90% of humanity will die in the next 30-50 years. Unsurprisingly, booming global warming will not only affect humanity's survival possibilities.

It also presents an equally vault and ever-increasing vanishing threat to animals and other biological species as well.

3. Devastating population boom
If we talk about population then Currently, we are near 8 billion people adding about 130 million additional people each year racing to 9.4 billion by or before 2050.
Over the next 30 years, our population is supposed to rise as high as 10-13 billion. One could also ultimately say that overpopulation and its inherent greedy-consumption beyond our carrying capacity is the major dangerous cause behind today's global warming emergency and most of the other critical global challenges of world.
Finally if we go to talk about Governance, sadly we are witnessing the failing to evolve effective global governance with the needed legislative, judicial, and enforceable executive powers to solve the global challenges that cross national borders.
If you think about it carefully, you will discover that the critical evolutionary failure of having no truth of effective global governance is the single biggest reason and core structural reason for why most of our other global challenges have not been resolved or continue to exist. The evolutionary absence of valid global governance alone acts to ease, surg, and enable almost all of the other global challenges that we are currently facing.
And finally, never forget that rising global warming can further increase the seriousness, frequency, and size of the above.
Moreover other global challenges we all now face, making them even harder to resolve!
How you can contribute to Our environment?
You can also contribute by promoting or giving donations to these government and Non-government Organization handling environmental initiatives just by your mobile phone. A small penny of your might be something best for our Earth. I will not going to tell you more about these things because you also know about our environment. Here are following some initiatives where you can donate proudly:
Namami Gange Programme
It is approved by union government in june 2014, recognising the cultural and environmental important of the river Ganga. Achievements of this programme include creating sewerage treatment capacity, river front development and surface cleaning.
This programme is being implemented by the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) at the national level and State Program Management Groups (SPMGs) at the state level.
Project GreenHands (PGH)
PGH is a grassroots ecological initiative established by Isha Foundation, which aims to take corrective measures to increase the greenery, restore soil health and manage natural resources appropriately. Till todays, PGH has thus far successfully overseen the planting of more than 17 million saplings by over 2 million volunteers. PGH is involved in a line-up of rural and urban greening campaigns across Tamil Nadu. It has over the years partnered with the Government, corporates, schools, colleges and NGOs in various environmental initiatives.
The Nature Conservancy India
Today nature is being altered at rates that diminish its ability to support the people and biodiversity that depends upon it. They are working to address challenges to nature and people. They believe that India can “develop without destruction” and sustainably manage its natural resources while pursuing its ambitious development agenda—ensuring conservation is a critical outcome in economic development of India. They are working collaboratively with governments, NGOs and businesses to provide a range of environmental solutions needed for India to achieve the much-needed economic growth and human development.
Greenpeace Environment Trust
A green and peaceful future is their quest. The heroes of our story are all of us who believe that better world is not only within reach, but being built today.
Greenpeace uses non-violent creative action to pave the way towards a greener, more peaceful world, and to confront the systems that threaten our environment. Greenpeace exists because this fragile earth deserves a voice. It needs solutions. It needs change. It needs action.
Green Yatra
A devoted Yatra for a green world and a sustainable earth. Green Yatra is a leading environment NGO of India and a dedicated Green Yatra (a journey) toward protection, conservation and betterment of Environment, Mother Nature and Humanity. Their only objective is to create a habitable GREEN Earth and a better world for the present and future generations. Pedh Lagao is dedicated to plant #10CroreTREESby2025 across India and planted over 151,821 trees. And a very interesting fact about this initiative is that, it commits to plant trees online. That's really amazing.
