1. Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth
Located in Varanasi India, Established on 10 February 1921 as Kashi Vidyapith and later renamed.

- Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri - Lal Bahadur Shastri joined the Kashi Vidya Peeth in Varanasi, one of the many national institutions set up in defiance of British rule. There, he came under the influence of the greatest intellectuals, and nationalists of the country. 'Shastri' was the bachelor’s degree awarded to him by the Vidya Peeth but has stuck in the minds of the people as part of his name.
- Chandra Shekhar Azad- He was born on 23 July 1906 in Bhabra, Madhya Pradesh, and was the son of Pandit Sitaram Tiwari and Jagrani Devi. At Bhavra he received his early education and for higher studies, he went to study Sanskrit in Kashi Vidyapeeth Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
- Tribhuvan Narain Singh- Former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, He remained Chief Minister from 18 October 1970 till 4 April 1971. Singh later served as Governor of West Bengal from the late 1970s until 1981. He was born and died in Varanasi.
- Ramakrishna Hegde-Ramakrishna Mahabaleshwar Hegde was an Indian politician who served as the tenth Chief Minister of Karnataka for three terms between 1983 and 1988. He was elected to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly in 1957, 1962, 1967, 1983, 1985 and 1989, and to the Rajya Sabha for two terms, 1978–83 and 1996–2002.
- Bhola Paswan Shastri- Bhola Paswan Shastri was an Indian freedom fighter and on three occasions between 1968-71 was Chief Minister of Bihar state in India. He was born in Bairgacchi village of Purnia district.
- Vidya Bhaskar-The birth centenary of Vidya Bhaskar, a professional who held on to his principles, is being celebrated today. His is a remarkable name in the history of Hindi journalism. He came from a south-Indian family with its roots in Andhra Pradesh, and served Hindi in brilliant fashion.
